Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for cooking, contributing to the overall efficiency of our food service operations. Duties Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards. Support the culinary team during service by preparing dishes as needed. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery. Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements. Assist with catering events as required, ensuring high-quality food presentation. Requirements Previous experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations. Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment is advantageous. Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
