Seeking a personal aide for my daughter who is 21 years old and high functioning with autism. May be a good fit for someone who has been a substitute teacher, classroom aide, or home health provider. The job is currently primarily being a companion and home health assistant while she recovers from a health issue. Must be comfortable providing some hygiene and personal bathroom assistance. During this time, the schedule is a little flexible, could be 3-4 days per week, and having one weekend evening regularly available will be a plus. Eventually, when she goes back to school, the focus of the position will shift to being primarily a school aide, including driving to/from San Jose to her college campus (tbd location), so must be comfortable with a commute, have reliable transportation (CA travel mileage reimbursement rate applies); be good at sitting in on classes and helping with tasks like taking notes and helping her set up any supplies or technology; plus outings and at-home/personal help. Interest in YouTubers, art and gaming is a plus, but not required. It’s okay if this isn’t your thing but would be great if you’re open to participating as a companion.
