A Child's Garden LLC is a Waldorf-inspired preschool and kindergarten that operates a 12-month program in two locations in Bend, OR. Our schools support children from 1 to 6 years old. We are looking for dynamic, qualified candidates with a love for childcare to fill one of our Teacher positions. Our Teachers work in part-time and full-time roles, with a flexible schedule and opportunities to develop professionally. Here are a few more details about this position: Overview of the Position The Teacher/Co-Teacher is responsible for supervising children at all times throughout the day and for creating and maintaining a daily rhythm for a safe and healthy environment. The Teacher/Co-Teacher will supervise the Assistant Teacher and communicate with colleagues, parents, and children to create a warm and nurturing environment. This position carries some important leadership responsibilities, and the right individual will love working with children and empowering them to be wonderful members of our school community. Requirements We are seeking an applicant that is already Teacher qualified. Therefore, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following criteria: Have at least 750 hours of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center Have one year or 1500 hours of qualifying teaching experience in a Registered Family or Certified Family child care Have attained at least step 6 in the Oregon Registry Have at least an Associate's Degree with a major in some kind of early learning, child development, or family studies Have a state or nationally recognized credential, e.g. Child Development Associate (CDA), related to preschool-aged care Additional Requirements: (Please note - if you do not have all of these things now, we can work with you upon hiring): Registration on the Oregon background check registry. Current first aid and CPR training, or the ability to obtain certification in the first 30 days of employment. Current food handler’s card.
