📍 Columbia, MD (Old Columbia Rd. near Eden Brook/Shaker Dr.) 💲 $16–$18 per hour | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm About Us We are a Columbia, MD–based business center seeking a dependable, outgoing, and hardworking Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team full-time. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a professional environment, enjoys interacting with clients, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. What You’ll Do As the first point of contact for our clients and guests, you’ll play a key role in providing excellent customer service and administrative support. Reception & Customer Service • Professionally answer and route calls on a multi-line switchboard. • Greet visitors, clients, and guests with a welcoming attitude. • Handle inquiries, provide basic information, and resolve customer concerns. • Keep the reception and common areas neat, professional, and inviting. Administrative Support • Maintain conference room calendars and schedule reservations. • Process mail, packages, and courier deliveries (USPS, FedEx, UPS). • Prepare correspondence, proposals, labels, and memos. • Manage client profiles and maintain accurate records. • Operate office equipment (computers, binding machines, postage meters, etc.). Facility Support • Assist with light upkeep of offices and shared spaces (kitchens, conference rooms, reception, etc.). • Help maintain plants, straighten magazines, and ensure the lobby always looks professional. What We’re Looking For Required Skills & Knowledge • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with solid English grammar and composition. • Friendly, professional demeanor with a customer-first mindset. • Dependability and attention to detail. • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment. Preferred Skills • Experience with clerical and administrative systems (filing, word processing, scheduling). • Prior customer service or front desk experience in a professional office setting.
