Our well-established tax office in San Marcos is seeking an experienced CPA or EA to join our team in a permanent seasonal position. We are a busy, client-focused practice offering income tax preparation, financial planning, and payroll services. Position Overview: The ideal candidate will prepare approximately 400 individual and small business tax returns during tax season, with additional returns prepared throughout the year and by extension deadlines. Responsibilities include: • Meeting with clients and gathering tax-related information • Preparing and reviewing tax returns (primarily individual, with some trust/business returns) • Assisting with tax return submittals and day-to-day office operations Qualifications: • Active CPA or EA license • Minimum 5 years of tax preparation experience • Strong client service and communication skills • Familiarity with Lacerte software is a plus • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compensation: Commission-based payout commensurate with experience and tax knowledge. Based on the expected 400 tax returns to be prepared during tax season, the commission should be around $65,000 or higher. Money collection. 5. Lender account management and oversee new lenders. 6. Oversee credit applications processing. 7. Resolve and respond to the lender’s complaints. Requirements: 1. Experience doing finance for a construction company, preferred. 2. Computer savvy. Experience with QuickBase (CRM), preferred. 3. Experience in budgeting and management. 4. Experience in opening accounts with new finance lenders. 5. Ability to gather and organize all necessary documents for finance applications. 6. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop version, preferred. 7. Comfortable collaborating with Sales reps. 8. Proven availability to coordinate with production and help meet weekly funding goals. 9.
