Part Time Multi-Client Bookkeeping Position!! (Lake Oswego)
Heyo!! My name is Matt and I am the owner of MPNW LLC, a small and growing Bookkeeping company. Over the past year, my company has tripled in size and it's finally time to bring on Team Members to grow a little larger. This is my second time starting and growing and firm - my last Firm had 16 employees and over 500 clients - and from that experience I'm set on a keeping this new group small, comfortable, manageable, promote from within, and keep things simple. Our current and future clients are remote-only, of quality standards, and not too difficult. My current employee, based of this exact same post, just hit full time and thus the need to meet you! DETAILS / BEST FIT (I think) * At First, I need about 20-40 hours a month of your time at this point. I don't want to overshoot expectations. As new clients in - we'll have more work. I hope this will turn into a full time job in about year, or it could remain part time if that's what's good for you. * I want to train you on my style of things: what to look for, answering "why a client did this," solutions ethical vs what a client wants to, payroll, basic HR, Quickbooks (Desktop/Online), other softwares, client communication. Hopefully you'll have some experience with Quickbooks, basic accounting, excel, Google Docs. * At first, you won't have direct contact with any clients - let's deal with the basics. You will also work with my other staff member, who will show you the ropes and you two are going to divvy up some client work. * Later on, we'll introduce you to clients and you will go on auto-pilot with these clients. When you have vacations or need time off, I'll have basic knowledge of your clients and I've got your back. (And vice-versa) * The more you can take on, the harder the tasks, the less hands on I am, the more I pay you. * Hours of Operations: Not concerned, whatever works for you. I'm generally a 9-5. If you have school or another job in the morning, we can do afternoons. * LOCATION: I do not have a physical office, but we should have co-working spot nearby where we can meet a few times for training by the summertime. So - this will be a 80-90% remote-only job. You'll be provided a PC Laptop, extra monitor, and other supplies that you need and you'll work from home or wherever you want. * TIMELINE: I am looking to start interviewing this month via Zoom. 2nd interviews at a local coffee shop. Hopefully we're working together in October ABOUT ME: I am 45, married into a large Scottish family, a HUGE concert goer, non-corporate, and very extroverted. I'm always optimistic, very helpful and giving, and always friendly! I have a cat that I'm obsessed with and I suck at woodworking - but practicing at that in my spare time. I've been in the accounting world about 18 years or so now, son of a CPA. I'll be a celebrity chef in my next life. :) COMPENSATION: $35/hour Please feel free to email me any questions and I am looking to start interviewing soon! Tell me a bit about yourself, add a swear word, be yourself! Looking forward to hearing from you!!!!

CFO (Chief Financial Officer)
About BusRight Access to education begins with a safe, reliable ride to school. That’s why we’ve built BusRight, used by over 70,000 Transportation Directors, Drivers, and Parents across 34 states, that brings safety, communication, and confidence to the country’s largest mass transit system: the yellow school bus. Following the closing of a $23M financing round, more than double digit YoY growth, and rapid nationwide expansion, we’re looking for a creative and strategic finance leader who can drive capital allocation decisions, evaluate growth opportunities, and ensure we invest resources where they’ll create the most impact. We’re a 50+ person remote team with hubs in New York City, Boston, and Austin. Curious what it’s like to be a BusRighter? Here’s a glimpse into our culture from a recent company retreat in Mexico, this BusRight commercial, and how we approach school bus conferences. The Opportunity As BusRight’s first in-house finance leader, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, steering financial strategy, optimizing capital deployment, and fostering investor confidence to support long-term success. This is a player-coach role that blends strategic, cross-functional leadership with hands-on execution in an early-stage environment. We’re looking for a financial leader with strong judgment across financial planning, SaaS metrics, capital deployment, and who can motivate a team through storytelling. Here are some key priorities that you’ll lead: Work hand-in-hand with the leadership team and board on strategic planning, scenario modeling, and performance tracking. Lead our monthly close and financial reporting process, crafting clear, insight-driven updates for the leadership team and the board. Act as a strategic thought partner to department heads, connecting financial insights to hiring plans, targets, and team execution. Build dynamic, decision-grade financial models to evaluate ROI across high-leverage investments (e.g., sales, product R&D, CX expansion, etc.) Spearhead our corporate development roadmap, from venture debt strategy to future fundraising and key banking relationships. Own forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning across every department to keep our growth efficient and scalable. Launch a real-time KPI dashboard to give leadership a pulse on revenue, churn, burn, unit economics, and other important operating metrics.  Oversee all core finance operations, including AP/AR, payroll, tax compliance, equity management, and benefits. Manage external partners across accounting, tax, insurance, and benefits. Drive BusRight’s long-term financial strategy, aligning capital allocation with our vision. Be a cultural cornerstone and trusted coach within a small, remote-first team that moves fast and cares deeply. A Day In The Life Your morning kicks off with a coffee and a 1:1 with the CEO, walking through updated runway projections after finalizing sales territory and growth plans for the coming year. Next up, you’re huddling with the VP of Engineering to dig into planned vs. actual spend and brainstorm how hiring priorities can best match our budget and growth goals. By the afternoon, you’re buttoning up month-end numbers in QuickBooks and catching up with department heads to make sure plans, like growing our Customer Success team, stay aligned with our financial targets and long-term vision. In the afternoon, you’re refreshing the real-time KPI dashboard, sitting in on a product strategy session to weigh in on quote-to-cash timelines, and sketching out early slides for the next board meeting. You might wrap up the day by modeling capital allocation tradeoffs, how might investments in a new product line impact runway and growth projections next year? This role lives at the intersection of execution and strategy, where spreadsheets meet storytelling, and where risk management fuels enduring growth. At BusRight, you won’t just be closing the books, you’ll be writing the next chapter. About You You bring low ego, champion the best ideas no matter where they come from, and know that culture isn’t defined by words, but by what we do and follow through on every day. Prior CFO or VP of Finance experience at a growth-stage startup (Series A - C preferred), with a proven track record of scaling financial operations in high-velocity environments. 10 - 15+ years of finance and accounting leadership experience, ideally in SaaS or tech-enabled companies where complexity, growth, and real-world operations intersect. Fluent in SaaS finance, from pricing strategy and margin modeling to unit economics and customer cohort analysis. Hands-on experience with fundraising and board relations, including owning investor updates, building data room materials, and managing the capital stack. Expertise across financial systems like QuickBooks, Bill.com, Carta, Gusto, and ideally Maxio, with a passion for building clean, real-time reporting workflows. Sharp strategic thinking with a strong execution mind, you can architect a long-term plan and dive into the weeds to make it a reality.
