As a Senior Residential HVAC Service Technician for H & E Comfort Services, you will have the opportunity to have engaging conversations with clients will communicating and troubleshooting resolutions. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair various refrigerant systems to include; Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems, Chillers, Reversible Chillers, CRAC Units Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools, cuts and threads pipe, using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment. Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant, installs various refrigerant valves in circuit(s) Test joints and connections in refrigerant piping for leaks using leak detector, verifies leak free using vacuum pump and vacuum hold test Test and verify proper operation of components, connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and ventilation fans Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units Add/remove Freon to refrigerant systems to achieve proper subcooling and superheat Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands Install, repair and service air conditioners, ranging up to 1100 tons cooling capacity in warehouses, barracks and commercial buildings Prepare work orders and cost materials estimates Assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques Supervise and lead lower-level workers Performs other related duties as assigned Essential Skills Knowledge and proficiency of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of commercial and industrial grade HVAC equipment Required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
