2004 Toyota 4Runner – 225k Miles – Needs Catalytic Converters – $4,000 OBO Selling my 2004 Toyota 4Runner with 225,000 miles. It’s been a very reliable SUV, but it currently needs new catalytic converters to pass smog. At this point, the cost of repairs outweighs the value it holds for me, so I’m ready to let it go to someone who can fix it up. The Good: Strong engine and transmission 4WD works great A/C and heat both work Interior is in decent shape – clean, no major tears Tires have some life left Power windows and locks work Clean title in hand The Not-So-Good: Needs catalytic converters to pass smog (check engine light is on) Exterior has a scratch and a minor crack in the taillight from a low-speed accident (grazed a Prius) Driver’s door lock usually locks and unlocks fine, but occasionally sticks Only one key This would be a great buy for a mechanic or someone handy looking for a solid SUV with potential. It runs and drives fine, but will need some work to be fully road-ready and smog-compliant. Asking $4,000 or best offer – cash only. Open to reasonable offers and selling as-is.
