Split-level single family home (W Glebe Rd/Mt. Vernon Ave) has fresh paint in and out, all new windows, doors, patio door, new carpet, and two fully renovated bathrooms. The main level has a living / dining area and kitchen with sliding door to backyard deck. There are 6 bedrooms in this home. Currently, two females and three male renters (only one person per room). We will not guarantee all female or all male renters. We look for renters who can courteously and respectfully live in a shared house with either females or males. The rental price includes: rent, utilities, wifi (no cable), water, electric, gas, sewer, trash/recycling, lawn mowing and the room is furnished with the basic furnishings seen in the photos. No cleaning service, please be prepared to assist in house cleaning, clean up after yourself and you are responsible for cleaning your room and turning it back to us when you depart, as clean as when we provided the room to you. UPSTAIRS BEDROOM: This bedroom is available immediately. It's medium sized (for this house, as there are rooms larger and smaller). The room floor has wood, and we’ve added a rug as part of the furnishings to dampen sound on the floor. There are two windows with honeycomb black-out blinds. Furnishing includes a twin bed frame, twin mattress, dresser, two nightstands and two lamps. The room has an overhead ceiling fan with light. There is a closet with a barn-style sliding door. The room shares a bathroom with one other room on the same floor. Each room has a keypad lock; the front door has a key pad lock. Each renter has a unique code, which should not be shared. When a renter departs, we remove the code on each keypad and former renters cannot access the house (i.e. no multiple sets of keys floating around). There's a washer/dryer in the garage, which each room has access to. We have made significant changes with almost every part of the house seeing a major renovation -- the kitchen is the last part of the house which has not been renovated. The negative stereotype of a group house where the landlord accepts rent and does not make repairs is not the way we run our business. The negative behavior associated with a group house will also not be acceptable here. We are not a party house or a frat house and we do not permit overnight guests--only one person is on the lease for each room. This is a beautiful house worth over $1M. We make repairs and want our renters to be respectful neighbors in this family community. The house is a block away from the community swimming pool, which a nominal fee will get you in on a daily basis during summer months or you can purchase a season pass. There are many amenities within walking distance (one mile circumference) including Giant, Mom's Organic Market, Gold Gym, Del Ray and multiple restaurants, etc. The house has a high walk score and not far from the bus: please check your commute time if you take public transportation to ensure this location works for you: WMATA's website use the Trip Planner. PARKING: House has driveway and off-street parking. There are two parallel spots (not side-by-side) in the driveway and street parking. It does not cost extra to park and no decal or permit is required. Serious inquiries only. MOVE-IN REQUIREMENTS: We can move an applicant in quickly, same-day even, if you have all docs ready: 1) deposit is same as one month's rent; 2) rental application (no fee, we will provide); 3) proof of income (2 months of bank statements OR pay stub with year to date); 4) signed lease (we will provide the lease); 5) first month's rent (prorated if moving in after the 1st of the month). 6) First month's rent (or prorated rent) is due 2 days before move-in. No pets, no families, no more than one person per room, no overnight guests, no drugs, no smoking (no marijuana, no juul, no cigarettes). Lease is 3 months, and month to month thereafter, with 30 day notice to depart after the lease is over. We do not raise rent when renter is on month-to-month. We are ok with summer interns or temporary stays so long as the minimum lease is met.
