Geoffrey Hinton, dubbed the "Godfather of AI" since he created the neural network that allows AI to exist and he created facial recognition to work on your phone. He warns in the Financial Times: "Rich people are going to get richer. They're going to use AI to replace workers. It's going to create massive unemployment and a huge rise in profits. It'll make a few people much richer, but most people much poorer." Over 40 industry worker jobs are currently being replaced by AI âšď¸ Here are just a few: -customer service (heavy layoffs) -data entry (heavy layoffs) -telemarketers (heavy layoffs) -software developers / web developers (junior developers seeing layoffs on an epic scale) -marketing (graphic designers and ad writers replaced, no more assistants, etc.) -sales (AI replacing initial contact sales people, testing already started for full AI sales roles) -assembly line workers / inventory workers / shipping workers (workers are being replaced more and more) -retail cashiers (just take a look at Walmart and Amazon Fresh Stores replacements) -payroll / paralegals /human resources (replacements started) -drivers (taxis, Uber & Lyft - self-driving cars already displacing in large cities -realtors / tax preparers (replacements started) -health/surgery (China already letting AI robotics do surgeries, coming to USA) AI will continue replacing the workforce at a CATASTROPHIC rate and companies will be tempted more and more to have a machine do the work that's cheaper than humans, never sleeps, not emotional and it doesn't ask for time-off / benefits, etc. - a nail in the coffin for worker's income. Corporations have formed Super PACs ($400+ Million so far) to lobby Congress - so far all 150 out of 150 regulation bills to limit AI have been killed - a perfect record! I feel for the people that are going to wait until it's too late to take action to secure their future. WHAT CAN YOU DO??
