Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis. Develop relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software.• Project long-range requirements for database administration and design. Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security, and domain controls. The DBE works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). Develop requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). Assist with recommendations for and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable document by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity, and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies. Location: On-site in Washington, DC. Salary Range: $105,000-115,000/annually. Factors influencing pay within this range include geography, market demand, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Requirements Minimum 1-5 years' relevant experience Using multi-tiered systems and communication between components. Using Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage. Using System and Storage architecture best practices. Implementing current market solutions and the applicability to NGA dissemination. Using COTS and GOTS tools to load data into databases and into disk storage and tools to extract data from databases. Database administration to include working knowledge of: Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL, PostGIS. Proficiency in HTML, XML, Java, JSON, and C Shell. Proficiency in Database Scripting. Preferred: Demonstrated experience with building complex formulas within Excel to extract data from DAIRS. Demonstrated experience with verbal and written communication and coordination skills to effectively work with individuals at all levels. Demonstrated experience in Cyber Operations, Intrusion Investigation, Information Assurance, or Network Forensics. Demonstrated experience in using NGA computer systems and familiarity with the Enterprise computer network. Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a willingness to take a CI polygraph. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of professional experience in software development, including design and architecture of enterprise systems Proven experience with ETL development and data integration Hands-on experience developing web applications and REST APIs Strong proficiency in Java and Python with an emphasis on OOP principles Familiarity with cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) and containerized deployments Demonstrated ability to work in Agile teams and deliver iterative capabilities Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required at the time of application Ability to work full-time on-site in Chantilly, VA Preferred Qualifications: Experience with microservices architectures and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of enterprise data models and integration with large-scale distributed systems Familiarity with CI/CD automation pipelines and DevOps practices Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance is required for this role Benefits Salary: $195,000/yr. -$210,000/yr.
