This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead a talented engineering team focused on building scalable, high-impact solutions. You will oversee software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. The position requires balancing technical strategy with business priorities while mentoring team members and guiding career development. You will work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to define and execute roadmaps that deliver meaningful outcomes. The role supports remote and hybrid work arrangements across the U.S., providing flexibility while ensuring team cohesion and alignment. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and a data-driven approach to decision-making are essential. You will also play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and shaping the engineering culture.
Accountabilities
· Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance coaching.
· Drive technical excellence by promoting best practices in software development, architecture, and code quality.
· Collaborate with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to define and execute roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
· Manage sprint planning, execution, and delivery to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
· Advocate for scalability, reliability, and maintainability in all technical solutions.
· Promote continuous improvement through code reviews, technical discussions, and retrospectives.
· Foster cross-team collaboration and clear communication to align engineering efforts with company priorities.
· Partner with recruiting to attract, hire, and onboard engineering talent effectively.
Requirements
· 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years in an engineering management role.
· Strong background in Python or similar scripting languages.
· Experience leading engineering teams, managing projects, and driving technical roadmaps.
· Proven ability to develop and mentor engineers, fostering a high-performing team.
· Deep understanding of agile development methodologies and best practices.
· Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, particularly with Product Management.
· Strong balance of technical depth and strategic thinking, with focus on business impact.
· Experience in consumer-facing websites or fintech/insuretech is a plus.
