Automotive State Safety Inspector

As an Automotive State Safety Inspector at Starkey's Auto Repair, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of vehicles on the roads of Honolulu, Hawaii. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of various types of vehicles to determine compliance with state safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Perform safety inspections on various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, and more. Evaluate vehicle components such as brakes, lights, tires, steering, and suspension to ensure they meet safety standards. Document inspection findings accurately and complete inspection online report. Advise Starkey's office staff on necessary repairs or maintenance to bring vehicles into compliance. Stay up-to-date with state and federal safety regulations and maintain knowledge of inspection procedures. Maintain inspection equipment and ensure its proper functioning. Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and concerns from vehicle owners professionally and courteously. Uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain confidentiality regarding inspection results. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. State-issued Automotive State Safety Inspector certification or the ability to obtain one. Prior experience in automotive repair, maintenance, or inspection is preferred. Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Physical ability to perform inspections, including bending, kneeling, and lifting. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. A commitment to promoting vehicle safety and compliance.
