Consistently provides quality patient care in a professional atmosphere while performing radiographic, CT procedures with accuracy and professionalism as prescribed by a physician, acknowledging the special needs of patients, i.e., pregnancy, trauma, sick and/or elderly patients.  Consistently performs quality radiographic exams by:  Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage, current and exposure time to minimize patient and staff exposure and to effect quality diagnostic images.  Properly positions patients to obtain optimum views of specified area of body as requested by physician.  Properly shields to minimize radiation to patient and staff and to ensure a safe environment.  Consistently performs quality CT exams by:  Determines proper protocol according to the ordering physician and the radiologist.  Properly maintains proper technique according to ALARA for both adult and paediatric patients. Requirements CT Scan Technician Fluoroscopy CAT Scan Portable X Ray C-Arm Diagnostic Radiology Diagnostic Imaging Current Registration by the ARRT (R)(CT)(MR) or its equivalent. What you’ll be doing: •This position is responsible for providing appropriate technological imaging service within the discipline parameters of magnetic resonance.  •The person in this position would be required to work unsupervised while maintaining timely and efficient service in an outpatient clinical setting.   •This position works closely the Diagnostic Imaging team and other departments in order to provide complete patient care. •Works in conjunction with physician to provide MRI and MRA examinations to assure appropriate and effective care to elicit meaningful diagnostic information. •Clinical and Technical:   -Know and understand Hospital, Departmental, and examination protocols.   -Working knowledge of equipment, how to "trouble shoot" equipment, and when repairs are necessary.   -Know how to do QA on films and on equipment.   -Know how to schedule examinations. Review daily scheduled exams for corrections/additions/cancellations.   -Make sure exams are completed to include Teleradiology of films.   -Reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures.   -Informing staff of new or changed policies and procedures.   -Maintaining staff and physician call schedules.   -Proficient in contrast injections.   -Infection control principles.   -Problem solving skills.   -Safety / patient screening as appropriate.   -Contrast dosage and administration as appropriate.   -System applications are utilized appropriately.   -MRI and MRA studies are performed appropriately. -Responds to patient needs and maintains patient confidentiality. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining high quality images as requested from medical professionals for use in the development of patient treatment plans, in a manner that places emphasis on quality patient care. You can expect to regularly: Operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographic images of patients’ specific body parts as requested by medical professionals, including using C-arm and fluoroscopy imaging; Adjust equipment and determine proper voltage, current, desired exposure time and distance for optimal images; Screen patients for radiologic imaging safety, explain the process and address patient concerns prior to performing scanning; Position patients for images using immobilization and protective equipment, including immobilizing patient, removing braces, splints or bandages and positioning lead shields, to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety; Evaluate images for technical quality; Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients’ electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS); Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines; Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician; Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment; Provide customer service and patient care, maintain confidentiality, and abide by HIPAA requirements; Remain calm in high-stress environments; Maintain regular attendance and punctuality to minimize impacts to clinic staffing schedules.
