Established Seattle band The Bad Things seeks Upright Bass player (Seattle)

The Bad Things are a four-piece "junkyard cabaret" band that has been active since 2022. We play a mixture of Americana, folk, Eastern European, Latin, Sea Shantys and English/Irish music all with a decided punk edge. We have released four albums and are getting ready to release our fifth. We also record and gig with Chumbawamba co-founder Danbert Nobacon from time to time. Our co-founding member and upright bass player has moved to Portland and we are looking to replace him with an upright player. Bonus if you can sing backups and play the musical saw (not required). Influences include The Pogues, The Tiger Lillies, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Social Distortion, The Mavericks, old country, Russian and Ukranian folk music, The Ukrainians, early Chumbawamba, The Mekons, and many many more. We gig about every other month with occasional gigs in Portland, Carnation, Tacoma, Bellingham and other regional spots. Rehearse twice a month or so in South Seattle. We currently put all gig earnings into our band fund to pay for recording, promotion, regional travel, etc. but are willing to pay per gig if that's a requirement.
