Vintage 8 Sided Brass Cricket Box with Hinged Lid and Latch Crickets are a symbol of good fortune, vitality and prosperity. They have played a strong role throughout Chinese, Japanese and Native American cultures. As far back as 500 B.C., people revered the song of the cricket and often kept crickets in cages to enjoy that song on a regular basis. In addition, crickets are valued as watch dogs and as natural clocks for timing a good harvest. Vintage 1970s brass cricket/trinket/incense box in great functional condition with some patina. Can be used for storing small items like jewelry, incense or potpourri. Measures approximately 2-1/4" high to the top of the box, 4-1'2" across, and 3-1/4" front to back.  Cash only.
