The Pelvic Health Clinic Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist Job Description: We are looking for an experienced therapist who is well versed not only in pelvic floor physical therapy, but also in other mind-body intervention styles and with significant training in trauma and trauma related care. Although monthly paid training is included as a job benefit, the physical therapist will be aided by having experience in these additional areas as the clinic does see a significant number of cases involving high complex trauma history and psychosomatic presentation of symptoms. The clinic also treats all genders and ages for all pelvic concerns, although experience and or interest in pediatric care is not a requirement for interested therapists. The owner of the clinic, Dr. Serena Fiacco, DPT, DHS, ACS, has created the methodology of Therapeutic Somatic Processing™ (TSP) that combines aspects of sexological bodywork/somatic sex education, neuroscience of chronic pain, and understanding of parts work from Internal Family Systems, IFS.* Monthly paid training includes access to Dr. Fiacco’s curriculum from Dr. Fiacco herself, with expectation that the therapist be able to adapt and integrate these treatment strategies and interventions into their pelvic floor physical therapy care. Potential therapists should therefore feel ready to shift the framework of care to include these potential new ideas surrounding causation, treatment, and plan of care regarding pelvic concerns, especially those involving pelvic pain and/or sexual pain. *Dr. Fiacco is not licensed or certified in IFS. Patient care is a give and take relationship between provider and patient in which both are necessary to establish an appropriate plan of care. Patient care should be seen as individual and holistic whereby providers are willing and comfortable addressing, via questions and inquiry, areas outside physical therapy scope of practice. This does not mean that providers should intervene in these areas, but that questions should be posed that lead to appropriate and necessary professional referrals as they relate to the outlined plan of care best suited to the patient. We support a creative environment where all Employees’ growth and autonomy is encouraged. Employer does expect from Employee to proactively communicate personal and professional boundaries as it relates to their success at work, or with patients. Punctuality is very important as both your time, and the patient’s time, should be respected. Please remain strict to your schedule and notify management accordingly if you are unable to do so. As a fee for service clinic that accept payments at time of service, patients will often request sliding scale payment plans. These are addressed on a case by case basis and as only approved by management. Documentation should be completed efficiently and thoroughly for all patients seen. Same day documentation is the best policy. All documentation is subject to audit and review by management. From time to time, front desk administration may request further documentation as needed for medical review, litigation, etc. As a small clinic, therapist will have further responsibilities of invoicing their patients and providing Superbills (completed through clinic’s EMR), often being the first point of contact for their patient should there be illness or an interruption to patient care, inputting hours for bimonthly payroll, being an extra set of eyes and hands for clinic cleanliness (clinic has dedicated cleaners, but for purposes of general aesthetics and/or supply stocking), and potentially being responsible for opening/closing the clinic.
