The Madrona Bar and Grill is located directly on the water in downtown Eastsound on Orcas Island. We are currently hiring for a year round, full time chef/kitchen manager. We have competitive pay, free meals, tips and waterfront onsite housing for the right candidate. We feature fresh seafood, steaks, burgers, sandwiches, pasta and salads. Position Overview The Head Chef will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, quality control, staff supervision, and kitchen management. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire the small team, maintain high culinary standards, and run an efficient and collaborative kitchen. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the kitchen staff. • Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, quality, and presentation standards. A talented pastry chef with the ability to raise the caliber and presentation of any and all desserts. Must work well with our current pastry chef and other staff members. Must be able to complete tasks even under pressure in a very busy catering kitchen. Must carry a sense of urgency in order to meet different orders and schedules for clients. Must maintain a clean and organized work station. Punctuality is always important and a must in order to prepare, produce and send out the freshest breads and desserts. Must have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and always be respectful to the other coworkers in the kitchen. Operating hours are early mornings to midday shift. Approximately 25 to 35 hours per week. Duties and tasks include: Helping to create and construct desserts, including a variety of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, cornbreads, sheet cakes, puddings, biscuits. As well as themed styled desserts for holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving. We are looking to hire for the position ASAP. $22.00 to $24.00 per hour to start D.O.E.
