The Madrona Bar and Grill is located directly on the water in downtown Eastsound on Orcas Island. We are currently hiring for a year round, full time chef/kitchen manager. Position Overview The Head Chef will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, quality control, staff supervision, and kitchen management. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire the small team, maintain high culinary standards, and run an efficient and collaborative kitchen. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the kitchen staff. • Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, quality, and presentation standards. Creating daily specials. • Manage food inventory, purchasing, and cost controls to achieve profitability goals. • Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations. • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture. Qualifications • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Kitchen Manager. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team. • Deep knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and inventory management. • Creativity in menu design with a passion for quality ingredients and authentic flavors. • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
