Position Summary: Knik Tribe is looking for a motivated team member who has a passion for creating opportunities for our Tribal Members and eligible participants who reside in our service area. This position will require knowledge, case management, and support for youth victims of substance abuse and/or youth delinquency. Case support will be required to understand and administer grant funds as well as related education programs. This position will provide referral services, career exploration, outreach, advocacy, cultural support, and workshop facilitation. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): The successful candidate will: • Provide one-on-one coaching and life skills. • Assist in the facilitation of group activities or workshops. • Work as part of a team: the team includes co-workers, partner agencies and the participant. • Manage an active participant caseload. • Establish goals with youth by administering appropriate assessment tools, interpreting results and developing plans to identify education and career pathways, and/or employment placements. • Maintain regular contact with tribal partners. • Collect and manage required data for quarterly and annual reports. • Provide follow-up contact with program participants in accordance with our federal requirements. • Conducts outreach activities to recruit participation in KT programs/services. This includes attending meetings/coalitions and community outreach events. • Collaborate to foster a multisystemic response to the opioid and substance abuse crisis. • Reduce negative outcomes for youth impacted by opioids and other substances. • Assist in grant writing projects. • Provides administrative/clerical support, filing, data entry and word processing. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements • One (1) plus years in community engagement, education, public outreach, or related field; OR any combination of training and experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities. • Strong Public Speaking and presentation skills. • Experience working with children, teens, or seniors. • Event planning and program coordination. • Ability to explain complex topics in engaging, age-appropriate way. • Experience working with diverse communities. • Intermediate tech skills for creating outreach materials. • Must be highly organized and self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Knowledge of Alaska Native and American Indian culture and/or community resources. • Valid Alaska driver’s license and be insurable under KT’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver’s license for the past 5 years. • Current First Aid and CPR certification, preferred. • Clean state and federal background check. SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Frequent visits to schools, senior centers, and community organizations. • Some evening or weekend events may be required. • Travel within the community to connect with local groups. The Aging & Disability Services Care Coordinator III’s primary responsibility is to support older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers to achieve their goals for community and independent living. Care Coordinators will conduct initial assessments with potential clients to confirm program eligibility and identify the client’s goals. Care Coordinators will then work closely with clients and families to navigate the complex social and health services delivery systems, and collaborate with the client’s medical, mental health, social services and other providers to assist the client to maintain the highest level of stability and independence in the community. The Assist will also provide general clerical support to the Energy Program Specialists and team. This will be a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week. Preference will be given to those bilingual in Spanish/English. All training will be provided on the job. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE: 1. Screens clients, schedules appointments, and responds to inquiries regarding the Energy Program. 2. Monitors Daysmart software for online applications. Contacts customer to complete intake form in Docuware. 3. Assists online and in-person clients in completing the Energy Assistance application. 4. Performs appointment confirmation calls at 10-day and 1-day intervals. 5. Organizes and maintains daily intake forms for Energy Program Specialists. 6. Process incoming mail and electronic mail for Energy Program. Scan and file incoming documents into Docuware. 7. Serve as point person for energy@ email address. Respond and manage incoming emails. 8. Provides basic home energy conversation education through printed flyer/brief review with clients. 9. Enters client information into multiple agency databases. 10. Process PSE help files electronically. 11. Provide clerical support functions for Energy Program Specialists at the direction of the Energy Program Manager. 12. Coordinate with Resource Specialists regarding client calls and scheduling appointments. 13. Contact utilities on behalf of clients to help set up payment arrangements as needed. 14. Assists clients at reception area as a back up to Energy Program Specialists. 15. Assist with program outreach events as needed. 16. Participate in agency and team meetings and trainings as required. 17. Other duties assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Education & Experience: -High School Diploma or GED/HSE minimum required. -Basic clerical skills (filing, math, calculator, data entry, legible writing) required. -Or a combination of education/experience meeting required job qualifications. License(s) & Certification(s): -Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance required for work related travel. -First Aid & CPR Certified. (within 6 months of hire) Skills & Abilities: -Spanish/English bilingual preferred, additional languages helpful. -Must have strong attention to detail. -Ability to learn and use agency databases, such as Docuware, VMware, EmpowOR. -Strong organization and time management required, with ability to multi-task. -Work independently, and as a team member; self-motivated. -Must have strong and effective communication skills (oral and written). -Ability to be an effective and positive ambassador for the agency. -Competency of standard office procedures and equipment. -Ability to navigate Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook. -Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with people from varied cultural, socioeconomic, educational and experiential backgrounds.
