The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This role ensures compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization. This position will support our environmental work at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal.  Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies. Lead training sessions for staff on safety protocols and emergency procedures. Investigate incidents and accidents and recommend corrective actions. Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training. Report writing skills. Administer medical surveillance program Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring program Collaborate with departments to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily operations. Stay up-to-updated on new legislation and industry best practices. Manage emergency response plans and first aid readiness. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. 5 years’ experience as a Health and Safety Manager Professional certifications such as CSP or 10 years of experience as a Health and Safety manager may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent (e.g. PE or CHMM) are preferred. Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to analyze data and write detailed reports. Flexibility to work additional shifts to match work requirements Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required. Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States Overview Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Observational Systems Engineer to support the Ocean Sciences Branch of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) at the Stennis Space Center. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting research and development activities, specializing in the preparation, deployment, recovery, and maintenance of advanced oceanographic instrumentation systems. This position requires active participation in sea-going research cruises, both domestic and international, and will provide the opportunity to contribute directly to critical oceanographic field experiments. Position is located on-site at Stennis Space Center, MS. Description The Observational Systems Engineer will play a key role in supporting the mission of the Ocean Sciences Branch, which conducts extensive field experiments and provides critical technical support. Responsibilities include preparing and calibrating advanced oceanographic instruments, deploying and recovering instrumentation at sea, and ensuring proper maintenance and refurbishment of all equipment post-deployment. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems. The candidate will also provide laboratory support in maintaining and organizing ocean instrumentation equipment, including specialized optics facilities.
