Elliott Bay Brewing Co. is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant is a mid-level part-time accounting position that contributes to keeping company books balanced and accurate and supports company financial goals. This person prepares entries, performs account analysis and provides timely information to appropriate stakeholders. This person reports to the Accounting Manager and follows accounting procedures established by the organization. Duties include, but not limited to: • Prepare weekly check runs • Review payroll and payroll tax processing and prepare journal entries • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales & use taxes • Perform bank reconciliations • Review and reconcile P&L and balance sheet accounts • Complete general data entry, journal entries and month-end tasks • Assist Accounting team with overflow, special projects and other tasks as needed Qualifications and Skills: • Have at least 2 years of experience doing Accounting work • Understand & follow Accounting standard concepts, practices, and procedures (GAAP) • Possess intermediate computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook • Able to learn new or custom applications quickly and easily • Have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written • Maintain excellent rapport with colleagues and supervisors Key Competencies: • Is detailed-oriented with strong commitment to accuracy • Is honest and dependable • Is a self-starter and extremely organized • Possess research and problem-solving skills • Able to multi-task and manage priorities effectively • Be cheerful and be part of a lighthearted team • Is flexible with a great attitude • Work well under pressure • Exercise absolute discretion when dealing with confidential matters • Possess exceptional follow-through and communication skills • Willing to do whatever is asked and is needed • Able to work both independently and as a team player Elliott Bay Brewing Co. is a family-owned company of high-quality neighborhood brewpubs in communities throughout the Seattle metro area.
