Senior Structural Estimator – Marine & Industrial Projects | Chesapeake, VA Company Overview: Craft and Technical Solutions has partnered with a leading provider of marine and industrial services, who supports shipbuilders, ship repair yards, and industrial clients across the U.S. They are known for our technical expertise, commitment to quality, and strong industry partnerships. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Structural Estimator to join their team in Chesapeake, VA Job Description: The Senior Structural Estimator will develop accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel and ship repair projects. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to be a key contributor to high-profile bids and project wins. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural fabrication, ship repair, and industrial projects Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and subcontractors to gather necessary data Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews Review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness and competitiveness Present bid proposals to leadership and clients Maintain a database of historical costs to refine future estimates Mentor junior estimators and contribute to department improvements Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in marine, industrial, or heavy construction environments Deep knowledge of structural steel repair and fabrication techniques Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Excel Ability to read and interpret ship repair drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and time management skills Experience with NAVSEA, U.S. Navy, or government contract standards is a plus Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred Preferred Experience: Experience in shipyards or marine construction Familiarity with government or military contracts Knowledge of coatings, insulation, or preservation services is a plus Benefits Why Join the team: Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for advancement Supportive and collaborative team environment Equal Opportunity Employer: We are committed to diversity and inclusion.
