Need to be creative, strategic and prepared for change all the time and be able to manage change and work flow dynamics. People sitting still, moving around, one person mic'd up, multiple people mic'd up? • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite Editing - what do you use for editing? • Ability to animate text graphics - can you animate graphics? any motion graphics skills? • Familiar with MotionArray resources • Familiar with Envato resources • Being able to think outside the box • Using Time Wisely Position Requirements: • Working knowledge of differences between YouTube, Facebook and Instagram video formats - can you format videos and shoot with the end medium in mind? • Experience in filming, editing/writing, Adobe Premiere, In-Design, final Cut Pro, Photography • Shooting, Editing and Cutting Out Portraits • Great writing skills, and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner • Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure • Do you ever edit content directly on social media? Join the VAEFF 2025 Curation Team: The Video Art & Experimental Film Festival (VAEFF) is seeking passionate and insightful Assistant Curators to join our small, dedicated team of volunteer curators. Now in its 15th year, VAEFF celebrates bold, genre-defying work and will return to the iconic Cinema Village in NYC from November 14–16, 2025. This is a unique opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes experience with one of New York’s most dynamic and unconventional film festivals. As an assistant curator, you will watch and evaluate works of video art and film from a vast variety of genres and themes, including music video, dance, visual narrative, fashion film, documentary, and more. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a critical eye, a passion for art and film, and strong writing skills. We are looking for enthusiastic self-starters who can work independently and in a team. Work is done remotely from home during flexible hours. The curation process will end by approximately the end of September.
