Description

We are looking for a Press Operator to join our team. The Press Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating the mechanical press, inspecting parts and assembling for quality per blueprints and manufacturing specifications. Employees must be open to working either an 8-hour or 10-hour shift (depending on business needs) plus 3 weekend shifts/month. Responsibilities Monitors and measures parts coming off the press to ensure they are within required specifications. Makes adjustments such as adjusting and tightening hold down bolts, die springs and pins; adjusts straightening rolls, guides, feeder roll pressure, feed length to maintain quality of parts, etc. Monitors continuous operation of press for proper feed of material from roll feed equipment into die. Loads coil material and threads through roll feed equipment. Makes repairs and preventative maintenance for proper machine care. Maintains operation of parts washer and lube tank. Observes all safety rules. Supports team objectives. Other duties as assigned. We are value-added partner to customers, featuring a wide variety of highly engineered products across Tools, Outdoor Living, and Celebrations. At our Chilton, WI facility we produce handheld torches and propane tanks which are essential for camping adventure and DYI’s.  Requirements Desired Experience Must be able to perform lockout and tagout. Able to perform quality checks with dial calipers. Maintain press operations. Strong mechanical aptitude. Forklift license is required. Our QA Technician's typical schedule will work Monday - Friday 3PM - 11PM. The QA Tech will work closely with the shift supervisor and QA Supervisor to ensure all quality parameters are being met at all times. This position must maintain a consistent quality product by performing QA checks (moisture, breakage, Oxygen, Bag Seal integrity, date code and raw material verification, and other checks as requested by leadership) at the required intervals. Key Responsibilities Prepare shift reports as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager. Perform line inspections and raw material verifications prior to production beginning after a changeover or at the start of production for the week. Validate sanitation effectiveness and complete Post-OP or Pre-OP sanitation inspection report. Constantly inspect product as it is being produced to ensure it meets the benchmark standard and customer expectations and stop production immediately if out of tolerance deviation occurs. Verify all on line inspection sheets and production documents prior to and during production. Sign off on all changeover check sheets as quickly as possible to verify all details are correct or to minimize the amount of product to be put on hold. Place all out of specification products and/or raw materials on hold using an orange QC Hold tag. Conduct and report daily GMP audits and corrective measures on designated shift. Perform a walkthrough with the shift supervisor at least once per week. Assist in maintaining retained production samples for each product produced. As needed, assist with training of new employees and refresher training of existing employees in GMP, HACCP and other certifications as needed. As needed, assist with customer complaints investigations. As needed, assist with sample preparation and shipping. As needed, assist in keeping Process Sheets up to date with production notes and speeds. As needed, assist with required Quality Assurance reports. As needed, conduct taste tests to ensure production run matches previous runs/samples. As needed, assist with R/D tasks and production sample runs/trials and report. Requirements 1 - 2 years working in a production or food manufacturing facility Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.​ Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment Must be able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in a warm/humid environment Must be able to work off shifts and be flexible with scheduling.
