Role Overview ZeroAvia is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role will require expertise in public accounting, proficiency in NetSuite ERP, bill payment processing, and hands-on experience with Expensify. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, streamlining processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Hands-on and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations in the US, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, bank reconciliations, Payroll and general ledger entries. Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions using NetSuite and Bill.com to ensure seamless financial operations. Monitor, process, and reconcile bill payments, addressing discrepancies promptly. Expense Reporting: Manage expense submissions through Expensify, auditing reports for policy compliance and accuracy. Provided employees with guidance on expense reporting procedures and resolve related inquiries. Payroll: Assist with payroll processing for US employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Address payroll-related queries and provide support to employees regarding discrepancies or changes Ensure all payroll journal entries are downloaded and recorded correctly to align with the company’s payroll procedures. Month-End/Year-End Closing: Execute month-end and year-end close processes, including but not limited to journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accruals. Ensure all financial records and supporting documentation are properly maintained for auditing purposes. Compliance & Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, providing timely and accurate documentation. Maintain compliance with IRS regulations and other applicable tax laws, including multi-state tax filings when necessary. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or a similar accounting role. Proven proficiency in NetSuite, Bill.com and Expensify. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-departmental collaboration. Provide excellent customer service by addressing accounting inquiries and resolving issues Preferred Skills: CPA certification or active progress toward certification. Advanced Excel skills, including functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
