Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Langley Regulated and Controlled Waste Management Specialist (3603) in Hampton, VA. Location: NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA Job Summary: This role leads the cradle-to-grave management of hazardous and regulated waste streams, ensuring full compliance with RCRA, DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Key Responsibilities: Manage hazardous waste operations, including lab packing and waste profiling Maintain and operate the Waste Disposal Tracking System (WDTS) Conduct inspections of accumulation areas and ensure regulatory compliance Prepare hazardous waste manifests, biennial reports, and discrepancy reports Coordinate waste pickups, packaging, and off-site disposal Provide training on waste management and spill response Support audits and maintain documentation for compliance verification Requirements Certifications Required: RCRA Hazardous Waste Management DOT Hazmat Employee Training OSHA 24-hour HAZWOPER Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and possesses over 8 years of experience in RCRA hazardous waste management, including comprehensive cradle-to-grave oversight of hazardous waste operations.  Demonstrated expertise in managing hazardous waste programs and personnel while ensuring full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.  Experience in lab packing a wide variety of unique laboratory chemicals and possess a thorough understanding of regulated and controlled waste management.
