The attorney will primarily appear before the immigration courts at 26 Federal Plaza and other venues throughout New York and New Jersey. Key Responsibilities: · Represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings, including detained and non-detained cases. · Litigate asylum, withholding of removal, and CAT claims before Immigration Judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals. · Conduct merits hearings, master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and stay applications. · Draft persuasive legal briefs, motions, memoranda, and appeals to EOIR, BIA, and Federal Courts. · Conduct client and witness preparation, country conditions research, and expert coordination. · Supervise or collaborate with junior attorneys, legal assistants, and paralegals. · Maintain and manage a dynamic caseload across multiple jurisdictions.
