CVA & Insurance Defense Attorney Positions Scahill Law Group P.C. is a leading New York Litigation Law Firm dedicated to serving commercial insurers and self-insured corporations. For over 40 years we have focused solely on Civil and Insurance Defense Litigation for first-party and third-party lawsuits. Our practice groups include the defense of insurance, automobile, construction, labor law, and contract matters as well as the defense of claims filed under the Child Victims Act and the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law. Scahill Law Group seeks a full time Associate Attorney for the defense of CVA (Child Victim Act) litigation cases and Attorneys for the Insurance Defense Department. The position would require the Attorney to analyze lawsuits, prepare pleadings, conduct depositions and conferences. The candidate must be organized, a team player and able to handle a high volume of court appearances, virtual or/and in person. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Conducts depositions and attend court conferences, and motion practice. Participate as trial and/or appellate attorney in matters of significant exposure and complexity. Work independently in making decisions in file handling, communicating those decisions appropriately and keeping the Legal Management Team apprised. Adept at working in a paperless environment, video conferencing skilled and proficient in computer legal case management systems. Maintain minimum billing requirements Requirements Possesses a minimum of two years of relevant litigation and trial experience encompassing liability and damages verdicts. Fully licensed to practice law in New York State and admitted to Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern District ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and Oral Communication Skills Willingness to work within the established system while also looking to improve processes and procedures and able to be flexible in all work assignments. Proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, MS Word, MS Teams, MS Outlook and ability to adapt to new programs.
