James Hardie Siding Installers / Structural and Finish Carpenters / Concrete (Slabs and Countertops) Who We Are Zigxag Group is a highly recognized construction organization focused on safety and quality. We are expanding our Professional Contractor Network (PCN) for residential and commercial projects in the southwest suburbs of Chicagoland, primarily in Orland Park and surrounding areas. Position Description We are seeking experienced professionals in the following trades: - Installation of James Hardie fiber cement siding. - Structural (framing) and finish carpentry. - Concrete work: slabs and countertops. Proficiency in more than one trade is a strong advantage. Collaborations are structured as independent contractor (1099) arrangements, in compliance with the Illinois Employee Classification Act (IECA). Start: Immediate. Responsibilities - Install James Hardie siding and trim according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. - Perform structural and finish carpentry: walls, beams, blocking, doors, trim, and punch-list items. - Carry out concrete work: excavation, formwork/shuttering, pouring, finishing, grinding/polishing, stamping, and sealing. - Maintain safety, quality, and cleanliness standards; provide daily proactive communication with project management. Minimum Requirements - 3+ years of verifiable experience in at least one trade; multi-trade experience is a plus. - Ability to measure, read basic blueprints, and proficiency with trade tools and techniques. - Reliable transportation to job sites in Orland Park and southwest suburbs. - Professional communication, punctuality, and ability to work independently and in crews. - Commitment to OSHA-aligned safety practices and proper use of PPE. - Authorization to work in the United States. - Spanish language skills are a plus. Tools and Equipment - Must have your own work tools and use mandatory PPE. - Specialized tools will be provided when necessary. - PCN members (1099) are required to provide and maintain their own tools and equipment as per IECA. Location Most projects are located in Orland Park and nearby southwest Chicago suburbs; local travel between job sites is required. Compensation and Payment Practices (Illinois Transparency) - 1099: $16–$75 per hour or project-based equivalents, based on experience, skills, and scope. - Weekly payments based on completed and approved phases or hours, as agreed. - We do not request or use prior salaries to determine compensation (in compliance with Illinois law). - For projects with prevailing wage requirements, pay will meet or exceed mandated rates. Performance Onboarding (First 30 Days) We have a structured evaluation process to confirm alignment with standards and continued participation in the PCN. Professional Contractor Network (PCN) We secure clients, sell projects, coordinate materials, and provide support with specialized tools when needed. You perform the work independently or with your team; if you don't have a team, we can connect you with other PCN members. Payments are issued for completed and approved phases, according to the collaboration agreement. Recognition and Discretionary Bonuses We recognize outstanding performance. Discretionary bonuses may be awarded for high-quality craftsmanship, on-time or early completions, exemplary safety, clean and organized job sites, proactive daily communication, and qualified customer referrals.
