Then, if you think you have what it takes, apply. **No recruiting agencies please** Position Overview: The Engineering Manager/Director plans organizes and directs the engineering team to meet company objectives for: new product development, manufacturing process, testing metrics for equipment coming out of production, improvement of existing product lines, intersects with field technicians and technical support staff to identify what sorts of issues are occurring in the field and how to address those. The EM also intersects with the VP-Sales to insure that the representation to clients by way of information contained in sales proposals etc., are an accurate representation of the capabilities and definition of the equipment. Selects, develops, trains and supervises staff Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports Provide technical direction to other engineers or engineering support personnel Direct, review, or approve project design changes Develops, determines and implements policies, procedures and programs Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvements for existing ones Monitors the engineers and their progress on each project in order to gauge the value proposition related to each Engineers work. Provides feedback to the engineers on a consistent basis in order to coach them towards a path of continual improvement or.... if that's not working move them onward, outward. Working with the manufacturing, operations and quality manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development Directs the review of production costs and product quality Directs preparation of accounting records for budgetary, production efficiency or other such purposes Recommends budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements Must be able to speak, read and white English as part of the job. Requirements Required Education and Experience: Must have a Bachelor's degree with seven to 10 years' related experience or training, or Master's degree with four to six years' related experience or training Project Management experience Must be highly proficient in the use of SolidWorks, preferably in the design of sheet metal Experience with Technical instructions/writing for building new models Knowledgeable with Scope of Work (SOW) Experienced with stage-gate review and problem-solving analysis Experience documenting bill of materials and how to solve issues related to BOM's Financial Management Supervisory Responsibility This position manages all team members of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the team members within the department. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. The performance of this position will also require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Team Member in this position is expected to work weekends and evenings as needed to meet expectations. This will be kept to a bare minimum and we can establish some maximums if this is a concern. Travel - this position may require travel from time to time. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for knowing all aspects of client and project safety requirements and for enforcing them throughout their jobsite. Ensure a safe workplace is established and maintained. Ensure efficient usage of manpower, material, and equipment. Coordinate the day-to-day activities of all direct-hire and subcontracted labor. Ensure subcontractors are working to the current project schedule, and that subcontractors are productively executing their work. Ensure all standards are met or exceeded.
