Warfel Construction is currently looking for a Yard Assistant. The Yard Assistant role reports directly to the Shop Foreman in addition to the VP of Field Operations. This position requires strict adherence to all Warfel safety rules and regulations, including any site-specific necessities. Standard work hours are M – F, beginning at 7:00 AM through 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch. Occasional Saturday work and overtime may be required. Maintain and repair tools and other items as needed. Set an alarm system for the yard shop and check the security of building/gates daily. Maintain all office and yard parking lots and warehouse storage area in a clean and orderly condition. Check that all lighting systems are in operation. Needs to have a commitment to safety and keeping the work area neat and clean. Logging tools in and out from jobsites, checking for proper operations before putting tools away or sending them out. Perform other duties, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school degree or GED equivalent Ability to work within a standard of accuracy and must be able to manage multiple competing priorities. You must have a valid PA Driver’s License and be informed of all regulations of the Commercial Motor Vehicle code. Must pass a DOT physical. Must be comfortable driving a stake body truck with a trailer and equipment.  A working knowledge of carpentry is essential, as many projects and repairs include wood components. Excellent communication, organizational and people skills, with proven success working in team environments.
