Perform routine landscaping tasks including mowing, pruning, arbor care, weeding, and planting. Monitor and assist with irrigation system maintenance and watering schedules. Clear walkways, paved areas, and roofs of debris, snow, and ice throughout the year. Support upkeep of roofs, gutters, and hardscapes. Equipment Operation & Safety Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment such as mowers, tractors, golf carts, and snow removal tools. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures. Safely drive school vehicles to move between campus locations. Teamwork & Collaboration Work closely with the Grounds and Facilities teams to support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Communicate effectively and contribute to a collaborative, respectful team culture. Assist with special projects and respond flexibly to changing needs and priorities. Community Engagement Interact courteously with students, staff, and visitors across campus. Provide a positive and professional presence while representing the Facilities team. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain timely and accurate records of completed tasks and ongoing projects. Attend staff meetings and complete required trainings as assigned. Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; landscaping training preferred. At least 1 year of professional landscaping or grounds keeping experience. Comfortable with year-round outdoor work and physically active tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs. Valid Oregon driver’s license with a clean driving record. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude and willingness to adapt to shifting tasks and weather conditions. Interpersonal Contacts: Interacts daily with facilities team and frequent contact with faculty, staff and students, with occasional contact with visitors. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of physical requirements and may not be all-encompassing. Incumbents must be able to perform job duties with or without accommodations. Frequent operation of machinery such as lawnmowers, leaf blowers, tractors, etc.  Requires mobility to transverse campus either by foot or mobilized machine  This includes moving up and down stairs or hills between facilities multiple times throughout the workday  Frequent lifting and moving of materials up to 60 lbs. related to machinery, landscaping (e.g. pruned branches, bushes, mowed grass, etc.), fencing  Works in varying degrees of noise and temperature  Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, climbing and kneeling  Must be able to follow guidelines for safety and use protective equipment as necessary. Schedule Year-round, full-time (40 hours/week) Some evening and weekend work required for emergencies or special events. Specific days and hours will be determined by the Grounds Supervisor. This position requires the ability to adapt readily to constantly shifting work scenarios within tight timelines and multiple constraints. All Facilities/Grounds team members are considered essential staff and are expected to respond to emergencies and inclement weather conditions.
