Cal Farley's Boys Ranch is a nonprofit child and family service organization that provides residential family-style living in a rural setting for boys and girls in need of a safe, home-like environment. We are currently seeking House Parents to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct care services and creating a home-like environment for children in need. The House Parent plays an instrumental role in creating a positive and nurturing environment for children who need a safe place to call home. As a House Parent you will work directly with children to provide support, guidance, and positive reinforcement. You will help children with daily tasks and activities, and you will be responsible for creating a sense of family within your home. Responsibilities Live in your assigned cottage, helping to care for and provide for up to eight children. Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines. Provide encouragement, guidance, and counseling to residents. Participate in educational and recreational activities with the youth. Ensure that all children’s physical needs (food, shelter, etc.) are met. Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcome difficult situations. Act as a positive role model to youth by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and attitudes towards others. Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in child care or related field is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be 21 or older. Ability to work independently with strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Married couples must have been married for a minimum of two (2) years to be eligible. Couples may bring up to two (2) dependent, school-aged children to live on-site. Please note that single applicants are not permitted to bring dependent children. Family Home Providers are responsible for providing care and supervision to 1-2 adults with developmental disabilities such as Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism, or Traumatic Brain Injury. More information about developmental disabilities is available on our website. Individuals may also have additional physical or mental health support needs. Individual’s ages range from 18-65 and their needs vary from high functioning, fairly independent Individuals to those who have total physical care needs or behavior support needs. Most Individuals participate in a school or day program during the day, although Family Home Providers are still responsible for being available during the day if needed. You will receive support from Enriching Lives to assist you in providing services in your own home such as initial and continuing education, the support of a multidisciplinary team, 24 hour on call professional support, and overnight relief support. Enriching Lives staff will visit you and the Individual regularly to provide support and ensure that the Individual’s goals are being met. At a minimum, you must have 1-2 spare bedrooms, a safe and pleasant living environment, reliable transportation, a high school diploma or GED and a designated backup Family Home Provider. All adult members of the household and frequent visitors to the home must have a clear criminal history and a DMV record without any major violations. Oasis Ascent, a short-term residential treatment program for teenagers located in Provo, Utah, is seeking a Youth Mentor. In this role, you will work closely with adolescent residents to provide guidance, support, and mentorship as they navigate their way to recovery. Title: Public Programs Associate (bilingual) Classification: Non-exempt, 50% FTE (20 hours/week) Rate: $22/hour Schedule: Flexible, with recurring weekend shifts and occasional evenings required Reports to: Public Programs Manager Position Summary: The Public Programs Associate (bilingual) is responsible for facilitating the Museum’s public programs throughout Santa Cruz County. Public Programs serve multigenerational audiences through workshops, walks, lectures, festivals, and more. In addition to developing content for certain programs, the Public Programs Associate will also strengthen community partnerships and represent the Museum through public engagement. This position requires Spanish language fluency, a willingness to work in a variety of outdoor settings, with frequent weekends and occasional evenings. The Family Advocate will provide hands-on in person case management to families with an open child welfare case where the children are residing with their parent or guardians, or for families where the child has recently returned to the custody of a parent or guardian. The Family Advocate will provide coaching and encouragement to families while utilizing their lived experience navigating multi systems or the child welfare system to support the family in meeting their goals. The Family Advocate helps to ensure that the integrity of the individual family's culture is fully integrated into every aspect of the care and support offered to the child and family. The Family Advocate ensures that culturally sensitive and family friendly engagement practices permeate throughout all of our program offerings. The Family Advocate will collaborate with Alameda County Child Welfare Workers to support parents in engaging in their case plan activities and/or transition after case closure to ensure parents have a clear understanding of the issues that brought their family to the attention of Alameda County Department of Children and Family Services.
