Liquor Store Cashier (Santa Monica)

Our liquor store is in a great part of Santa Monica. Safe, great vibes, friendly customers. 25 dollars is exceptional pay for a cashier, and we are looking for an exceptional person. We are looking for a lead cashier. The position is 5 days a week, 40 hours, and Monday and Tuesday off. The lead cashier will close the store from 3-11, and 4-12 on Friday and Saturday. Will also be held responsible for making sure that everything in the store is running smoothly. You will never be by yourself. You will not be taking inventory or making orders. You must be qualified to be taken seriously for this position. If you are close to this fit, but not 100% please keep reading after. *Good Experience in a liquor store, bevmo, total wines etc (if you were employed for awhile at a liquor/wine distribution company such as southern, you might also be able to be a fit for another cashier position) *Very knowledgeable in wine and spirits, and a basic understanding of beer *Experienced with lotto *being capable of stocking efficiently, and helping put away orders *willing to learn the inventory you are not familiar with that we carry *preparing orders for delivery services *being good with people but also efficient. We have had issues before with staff who do not want to talk to people at all, or people who think every transaction should replicate a conversation of a old friend you haven't seen for awhile. We want friendly people, but although we have two cashiers most of the time, the still the store is busy and you must also be efficient with transactions. Also, the ability to talk about product without going too deep. *an understanding of the liquor store lifestyle, that we are open 365 days a year, and that if your shift falls on a holiday, that you are expected to work on it. These are the requirements for the lead cashier. We are also hiring other cashier positions, with still good pay, and a schedule that will be slightly better. The non negotiables for ANY cashier position is fair knowledge of wine and liquor/ and experience at a liquor store, bevmo, total wines, or worked with a large liquor/wine distribution company on the front lines. Experience with lotto is a huge plus. It is fairly similar to the lead cashier, but for the lead we are looking for someone who is very experienced, very sharp, focused , efficient, and work driven. The person we are looking for the lead cashier is a desirable job candidate that probably already has a job, but might be looking for better pay.
