EPIC Early Learning is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join our team. As a private, nonprofit organization, EPIC has been providing early childhood educational services to children and families in Central Washington for over 45 years. Our mission is to empower children to reach their full potential through nurturing relationships, engaging experiences, and high-quality education. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of all facilities supporting Head Start, Early Head Start, and ECEAP programs across multiple sites. This position ensures that buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a manner that supports a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children and staff. The Facilities Manager must ensure all facility operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and the ECEAP Performance Standards. The role requires collaboration with program and administrative staff to support facility-related planning, budgeting, compliance, emergency preparedness, and ongoing quality improvement. Responsibilities Ensure all facilities are safe, clean, and functional by overseeing routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and improvements across all Head Start, Early Head Start, and ECEAP sites. Maintain full compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), ECEAP Performance Standards, health and safety codes, licensing requirements, ADA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols, emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and regular safety drills; collaborate with site staff to ensure all facilities are equipped and prepared for emergencies. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized services (e.g., HVAC, janitorial, pest control), ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services and adherence to contractual and safety standards. Assist in the development of facility-related budgets; monitor expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures while ensuring facilities meet programmatic needs and quality standards. Manage renovation, relocation, and expansion projects in collaboration with leadership and program staff to ensure facilities support high-quality early learning environments. Track and manage facility-related assets including equipment, supplies, and furnishings; ensure timely replacement and upkeep to meet program standards. Work closely with program directors, center managers, transportation, health, and administrative teams to align facility operations with program goals and to respond promptly to facility-related concerns or emergencies. Maintain confidentiality of all agency data, passwords and LAN address numbers. Report policy violations and/or unprofessional behavior to supervisor in a timely manner in accordance with EPIC’s policies/procedures and with WACs. Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPICs culture of “Speak up, Speak out”.
