With over 20 years in design, apparel and signage business, Graphix Group provides creative graphic designs, business signage, embroidery, screen-printing, sublimated apparel across multiple consumer segments including yachting, business to business and individual consumers. The position of “graphic designer” includes but is not limited to face to face interaction with walk in clients in our Point Loma retail and production showroom, gathering information on individual projects to come up with creative solution to customer needs. Responsibilities Include: Client interaction, gather information and project solutions Develop design layouts and production proofs for client review Work with large format printers, vinyl cutters, heat presses and other sign making equipment Installation of business signage on windows, doors and building. Survey and installation of boat graphics in yacht marinas in outdoor water environment Self manager individual workload to accommodate clients Other duties as needed Qualifications Include: 5-7 years of graphic design 5-7 years of sign making and installation Strong computer skills with extensive experience of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Knowledge sign making software is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills for project presentation Ability to design, create and adapt designs to client needs Attention to details Employment Type: In House - Full Time or part time. Plans each issue and coordinates the flow of copy. 3. Communicates clearly and consistently with reporters and editors. Resolves problems, sets schedules, and maintains high standards for news quality. 4. Has an understanding of tax law basics and terminology, as well as a thorough understanding of congressional and regulatory procedures. 5. Edits for substance, style, and accuracy, conducts research as needed, and ensures proper style, according to established policies and procedures. 6. Responsible for long-range planning, including assessing needs for graphics and other resources to complete assignments. 7. Participates in company-sponsored conferences, roundtable discussions, etc. 8. Adheres to company style guide and established publication deadlines. 9. Supervises subordinate staff, including hiring, recommending raises, disciplinary actions, and termination. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Demonstrated strong knowledge of writing and editing concepts and principles. Must be able to evaluate content for grammar, clarity, and coherence. Understanding of key principles in tax policy. Ability to write and edit stories on complex topics in a way that is accessible to educated individuals who are not experts in every field of tax law. Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to manage a large team. Ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment. Requirements College degree in English, journalism, or related field. 10 years+ of experience in editing and reporting news stories, preferably for a professional audience. Must display sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Experience in managing and team building.
