Location: Richmond, VA & Lake House in Prince Edward County, VA We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and capable Caregiver to join a household team supporting the Primaries, a husband and wife. The position follows the couple between their private home in Richmond and their residence in Prince Edward County, Virginia. One Primary is recovering from a stroke and requires daily personal care and medication management. This position also includes light housekeeping, some meal prep and service, pet care, and meaningful engagement to support the couple’s health, comfort, and quality of life. This role is essential to the couple’s day-to-day well-being and offers the opportunity to make a real difference in a peaceful and respectful private home setting. • Provide assistance with one Primary’s bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene • Dispense and document medications on a daily schedule • Assist with safety and fall prevention in both homes • Monitor for health concerns • Accompany residents to therapy or appointments as needed • Prepare some light meals and assist with serving, clean-up • Assist in personal areas remaining tidy • Maintain a calm, structured environment that supports health and healing • Assist household staff with laundry, light housekeeping, and linen changes • Occasionally support larger household cleaning or special events alongside estate staff • Engage Primary in daily conversation, games, gentle exercise, and cognitive activities • Lead walks, gentle movement, and golf cart rides • Maintain a warm and encouraging presence throughout the day • Support transitions between homes, including packing, organizing, and maintaining continuity of care • Collaborate with other staff at both locations to ensure coordinated service and a peaceful home environment Preferred Skills: • Strong communication and emotional intelligence • Attention to detail and personal discretion • Tech-savvy: Able to use calendars, communication apps, and basic smart home technology • Applicants with strong computer/technical skills and comfort managing medication reminders or digital records will rise to the top • Prior experience in private home caregiving, CNA, or health aide roles • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between Richmond and Prince Edward County • Physical ability to assist with lifting, walking, and standing for long periods • Experience with stroke recovery, mobility support, or elder care is strongly preferred • Pet-friendly and comfortable working around dogs • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) About the Residences: The couple resides in two professionally managed private homes: their city home in Richmond and The 1752 Estate, a historic property situated on 200 acres in Prince Edward County.
