Job Description Grace Point Contracting LLC is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our exterior contracting firm. This position will be responsible for the department in providing timely, accurate, complete, and fairly priced bids to our prospective and established customers. As well as working directly with Project Managers during preconstruction to facilitate successful project completion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze projects on a pre-bid basis for strengths and weaknesses Work with General Management to negotiate new work with established clients Prepare weekly bid calendar and delegate projects to estimating staff Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy Prepare Estimates in detail for various multifamily and commercial projects Prepare construction budgets by studying plans, updating specifications, identifying and projecting costs for each elevation Prepare and deliver preconstruction cost analysis to management Ensure timely completion of estimates Follow up on award status of potential projects Manage bid pricing from all vendors, negotiate pricing as necessary Change order estimating and management Assist Project Managers and other company personnel on preconstruction efforts Monitor costs and trends in the marketplace Foster and maintain outstanding rapport subcontractors and vendors Assist as needed with special projects and marketing materials Required Skills: Strong working knowledge of digital take-off software – Planswift or Equivalent High Energy!! Highly organized, approachable, and detail oriented Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills Ability to learn new concepts quickly Strong presentation skills Capacity to analyze and anticipate customer needs Resourcefulness to provide unique and creative solutions to individual situations by using independent judgement and/or in collaboration Education & Qualifications: Estimators must have an understanding of the construction industry and how construction projects progress. A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction (preferred, not required) or equivalent experience 5 years of Construction Background (Preferred not required) Candidate Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
