Systems Engineer – Long Beach Sierra Cybernetics is seeking an experienced Network Operations Center Systems Engineer with 4+ years experience in Systems Administration and Systems Engineering to work for us supporting our Port of Long Beach client. You will assist the NOC managing and supporting several hundred servers, 99% virtual, for the Port’s network and systems infrastructure. The successful candidate will demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Cisco switching, routing, and voice technologies, as well as hands-on experience with modern Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems and next-generation firewall/security appliances. This role is pivotal in designing, deploying, and optimizing network infrastructure to support robust and secure operations across the organization. The position is expected to be approximately 9+ months or longer assignment. Fully onsite at the Port offices and data center in downtown Long Beach. Open to US citizens, green card holders, and H1-b visa holders. Education, Experience and Skills 1. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field 2. Extensive background in Cisco switching, routing, and voice systems. 3. You will provide administrative, budgetary, and IT coordination support under limited supervision in a fast-paced public sector environment. Position is full-time, fully on-site in downtown Long Beach. You must be a US citizen or green card holder.
