Sign Shop Helper - Sign experience preferred. We are looking for a sign shop helper and permit specialist. MUST have a clean driving record. You will be responsible for the permitting process (we can train you). You will prepare and submit permit applications and ensure timely approvals. When you are not working on submitting permit applications, you will help the shop with vinyl or help the installation crew close out permits. Closing a permit requires that you meet an inspector onsite to review the signs we installed. You will need to be able to carry large ladders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Prepare, assemble, and submit complete permit packages for review · Monitor permit application status and follow up regularly with agencies · Maintain accurate records of all permit submissions, revisions, and approvals · Address and resolve any questions or rejections from permitting agencies · Maintain an up-to-date database of permitting timelines and jurisdiction requirements · Communicate directly with clients, property managers, and regulatory authorities · Prepare necessary applications and compile data for variance requests · Attend hearings on variance requests Required Skills and Abilities: · Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to read and understand construction drawings, site plans, and technical documents · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) · Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously · Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills · Self-directed with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Education and Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent · 1+ years of experience in permitting, project coordination, or administrative support in a construction-related field preferred · Experience with sign permits or local planning/zoning departments is a strong plus Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer · Occasional travel to city offices or project sites will be required · Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally Full time M-F 8-5, 7-4 – flexibility needed based on project needs Email me your previous experience and availability.
