About Us: Nysa Botanica is a community oriented and design forward plant and flower shop located in Downtown Los Angeles. We offer specialty plants, floral arrangements, and related products in a lush, retreat-like storefront that includes space to host community workshops and private events. We value warmth. professionalism, reliability, and a genuine love for plants and aesthetics. Position Overview: We are hiring two or more part-time Shop Assistants to support daily operations, including customer service, order fulfillment, and upkeep of the shop. We're especially interested in candidates excited to contribute beyond the sales floor, including support with marketing, social media, and website management. Key Responsibilities: ~ Assist walk-in customers with purchases and product questions ~ Prepare and package delivery and online orders via DoorDash and Shopify ~ Care for plants and floral displays (watering, tidying, organizing) and maintain a clean, well-presented retail space ~ Open and close the store, depending on the shift ~ Support workshops and in-store events ~ Help update the website and product listings (photos, descriptions, availability) ~ (Optional but encouraged) Assist with marketing, social media content, and promotional ideas Required Qualifications: ~ Interest in and basic knowledge of plants and florals ~ Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented ~ Friendly, professional communication style that encourages openness/questions but respects others' time/space ~ Ability to multitask and work independently in a small team ~ Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for extended periods, and climbing 1 flight of stairs to the shop's second floor Preferred Experience and Skills: ~ Experience with plants or florals/floral design ~ Retail, hospitality, or customer service experience ~ Familiarity with Shopify or e-commerce platforms ~ Skills in photography, copywriting, or digital design for web/social media Job Logistics: Location: Downtown Los Angeles within 2 blocks of Orpheum Theater Schedule: ~10–20 hours/week, including some weekends Compensation: $18–22/hour depending on experience To Apply please email us the following: 1.
