Farmers Market Sales Associate (Astoria) Job Posting: Farmers Market Sales Associate (Seasonal, 1099 Contractor) Location: Astoria Job Type: Temporary / Seasonal (1099 Contractor) Pay: $160 per day (paid at end of shift) + free produce bonus + potential end-of-season bonus (paid on a 1099) Schedule: Sundays Duration: June – July (possibly longer) About the Role: We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and self-sufficient person to help at our farmers market booth. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and tear down, handle sales, interact with customers, maintain a visually appealing display, and offer product samples. If you love fresh produce, enjoy engaging with people, and are comfortable working independently, this is a great opportunity! Responsibilities: ✅ Setup & Teardown – Arrive early to unload, set up tables, arrange displays, and ensure everything looks inviting. Tear down efficiently at the end. ✅ Sales & Customer Service – Engage with customers, process sales, and answer questions about our produce. ✅ Market Sampling – Offer samples of cherries, apples, cherry tomatoes, and other seasonal produce to attract customers. ✅ Sales Reports – Provide a simple sales summary after each market. ✅ Display & Presentation – Keep the booth organized and visually appealing. ✅ Social Media Content – Take high-quality pictures of the stand, customers (with permission), and produce for Instagram & Facebook. ✅ Honesty & Accountability – Handle cash and digital payments responsibly.
