Truck and Equipment Mechanic Needed (Sacramento)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck and Equipment Mechanic to join our telecom construction team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, problem-solving professional responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment fleet, ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities: • Perform routine maintenance and light repairs on a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. • Work with management to ensure vehicle scheduling and maintenance stays on track. • Order parts and draft purchase orders to acquire necessary materials. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. • Perform small-scale welding and metal fabrication as needed. • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions to perform onsite repairs. Qualifications: • A minimum of five years of experience as a truck or heavy equipment mechanic. • Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. • Welding experience is preferred for minor repairs and fabrication. • Must own a complete set of hand tools. Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a journeyman body technician in a collision repair environment. Proficiency in using industry-standard tools and equipment, including welders, frame machines, and hand tools. Strong knowledge of repair techniques, bodywork, and alignment methods. I-CAR certification is a plus. Ability to read and follow repair plans, damage reports, and manufacturer specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs.
