Applies a variety of engineering techniques and proven design concepts to support the execution of the New Product Process (NPP). Working independently plans and leads the design and testing of new and existing technologies for new products and current product enhancements using originality and ingenuity. Provides technical support on highly complex assignments during the design cycle of the NPP. Leads problem solving efforts, independently researches, justifies, and initiates solutions to unique and highly complex problems where precedent may not exist. Leads research and evaluation of product and/or part specifications and the development of moderately complex concept/prototype models. Ensures that marketing requirements are translated into engineering specifications. Provides high level technical input and ensures the use of proven design concepts. Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings. Defines and documents performance parameters and cost estimates. Compiles and analyzes test data. Collaborate with factories, Product Marketing to develop infrastructure for organized and accessible factory support files (firmware, software settings, control software, calibration data, packing lists/BOMs) Regular trips to partner factories for improved cross training, quality control, improved relationships, knowledge transfer, and process sharing. Additional trips to support development and validations (PVT, FATs) Prepare Documentation - technical instructions and user manuals (install/internal customer) Create Process and Instructions – develop and implement standardized processes for all supported products including work instructions - troubleshooting and repair procedures Utilize Test Software – develop, implement, and support automated test software and diagnostic tools to drive quality control, efficiency, and traceability. Design and implement workstations to support evaluation, troubleshooting, and repair of all products including the optimization of station layout and workflow Provide training support to the Product Marketing team for product families Participate in the design of factory layout to maximize operational efficiency, integrating Production, Repair Depot, and Flex teams. Continue to adapt and optimize the layout to support future large-scale rework initiatives and evolving business priorities Assist in failure analysis for field returns to reduce time to root cause compared to sending materials back to original factory Serve as product technical support for issues escalated by Tech Support, either remotely or on-site Collaborate closely with Installation teams, AE's, and Tech Support to gather feedback and lead efforts to drive continuous improvement efforts focused on enhancing efficiency across the entire process - from Production factories to installation experience Manufacturing vendor support - transfer of new design to vendor Product Expert in product implementation whether developed internally or externally Change review and BOM/Configuration upkeep Perform related duties as assigned Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Requirements BS in Engineering desired. EE, ME, IME, SW degree or equivalent preferred. 0-3 years’ experience in an electro/mechanical engineering field. Knowledge of display technology including LCD, OLED, and LED desired. Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project, team environment. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach. Collaborative communication skills to successfully interface with outside suppliers and other functional areas, including Marketing, Service, Repair and Quality, to achieve desired results.
