If you’ve built your own computer and are the go-to person for family and friends’ tech related questions, have a drive to solve problems and figure out creative solutions by using all of the resources available to you, and know how to communicate effectively with all types of people and work in a professional office environment, then come work with us! If you have the talent we’ll give you the training and experience that will prepare you for work in any technology company, by teaching you the core foundations of system administration, enterprise networking, and software design, development, and support. We also have existing relationships with many local colleges and universities. We offer a flexible work schedule, where you'll need to be available for emergencies and phones calls between 8am - 5pm M-F, and checking emails throughout the day. Once you're up to speed we'll also add you to our on-call rotation for rare outages. We'll work with you to teach you all of the technical skills you'll need, and we have over 200 hours of training videos and documentation and an open-door policy for support and further education. The most important skills you'll need for this job are a hunger for learning, a positive attitude when problems arise, the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, and the ability to communicate compassionately with users. This position is located in Santa Cruz, Ca, with additional occasional (once a month) remote on-site work in Silicon Valley. We're a small IT consulting firm, providing managed services and support for a wide range of applications, operating systems, end-users, and businesses across the United States. We are a fully-remote organization and pride ourselves on our laid-back, friendly work environment. We work hard to build reliable, highly-available systems so that work tasks remain during work hours, and we have an on-call rotation for the rare cases of catastrophic outages. We monitor and test backups monthly to ensure emergencies can be resolved quickly, and we ensure our systems can be deployed to multiple cloud providers to ensure a provider outage does not result in an emergency.
