In-Person Piano Lessons for Adults (Redwood Shores)

While growing up, I was blessed to have a next-door neighbor who gave piano lessons in her home and a mom who insisted that my siblings and I practice our piano lesson every day! Though today I consider myself to be primarily a classical singer (lyric baritone), I am well-accomplished as a pianist and continue to practice and build a repertoire many years later. It is truly a joy to be able to read a score of music and learn new pieces on my own. Now-a-days affordable portable electronic pianos with headphones make it more practical for apartment dwellers to own their own instruments so that they may develop their skills within their own living spaces. If you aspire to be a musician (professional or not) the piano is the most satisfying instrument to learn, particularly if you are willing to commit to regular study and practice—at least thirty minutes a day! I am offering private one-on-one piano instruction to adult beginners (18 years and older). Each forty-five to fifty-minute lesson will feature about 30 minutes at the keyboard followed by another fifteen to twenty minutes of “note speller” work designed to reinforce music reading skills. My approach to teaching is a fairly traditional one, but I am open to tailoring my method to adapt to your own pace and style of learning. I am offering lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings in my studio-apartment located in Redwood Shores. Lessons are $40 each, prepaid monthly ($160-$200 per month) NO REFUNDS. Missed lessons can be made up at our mutual convenience.
