Description

Hello, Fournee Bakery in Berkeley is looking for a baker to join the team. We are looking for someone with relevant experience. Ideally we are seeking someone who has experience with high hydration, slow fermented dough. Some milling experience would also be good as we mill some of our flour in house. We prefer someone with experience but we are willing to train someone who is currently working in the field (line cook...etc) or recent culinary school graduate who shows a strong capacity for the craft. We source many of our ingredients from local farms (including wheat which we mill in house) so we are looking for someone who has a deep interest in local food production and ingredient seasonality. We are small but usually pretty busy and we need someone who understands how to work quickly, efficiently and with a sense of urgency. It is also essential that candidates know how to communicate respectfully and clearly with other people in the kitchen. We are very much a team and we need someone who wants to work on a team. Candidates should be able to perform all of the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, working on your feet for at least 8 hours, bending, reaching and other standard kitchen tasks.
