Who we are: Metro Cinema is an upscale, private cinema concept from the founder of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.  In addition to movie screenings, the 20 private suites are also available for meetings, events, sports, karaoke and gaming.  This is the very first private cinema concept in the United States and will feature upscale, contemporary dining as well as a fantastic wine list and cocktail program.  We are looking for hospitality-centric lovers of great film, great food and great drinks to help us usher in the newest innovation in the cinema industry. Set up and break down all stations Able to follow recipes and prepare all menu dishes accordingly Use knowledge of common allergies and dietary restrictions to modify recipes on the fly when requested Use the correct portions when cutting and serving Pro-actively use non-peak service time to prepare for peak service times and rushes Avoid food waste by observing food storage time and temperature standards Plate each dish according to Chef’s standards Ability to remain focused in a busy kitchen environment Restock all stations with food products as needed Complete assigned daily/ weekly/ monthly cleaning tasks Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils Perform other kitchen duties as assigned. Coordinate preparation of mis-en-place with prep cooks Operate and clean all stations including steam tables, mixers, meat slicer, gas burners, wood burning oven, flat-top grill, char grill, hood vents, fryers, reach-in refrigerators, reach in freezers etc. Execute safe knife handling skills and safe use of all kitchen equipment Keep personal knife set sharpened and in good repair Assist with weekly/ monthly inventory counts  Keep informed of restaurant industry trends Assist with putting away deliveries when needed. Completes food storage logs This position requires flexible hours and schedules are subject to change based on business needs. Ideal Candidates:  *Have excellent knife skills.  *Have knowledge of cooking procedures, safety and sanitation.  *Have experience on multiple stations in the kitchen.  *Are able to lift 50 lbs or more.  *Prepare and execute key components of dishes.  *Ensure quality and accuracy of products and dishes.  *Support their fellow cooks. *One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook Benefits and Compensation: $24-$26/hr Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) with matching.
