




FUNCTION: Security guards, also called security officers, patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity. RESPONSIBILITIES: Works under the direction of a supervisor. Must understand and comply with retail security. Must wear issued uniform at all times while on duty. Must show good judgment and make common sense decision in dealing with the safety of self and others. In an emergency, must be able to take charge and direct others to safety, while being able to call police. Must have a current guard license with the State of California Drug testing often is required and may be random and ongoing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions with possible exposure to dust and fumes. Must have good vision and hearing. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Must be self-motivated and dependable. Must be able to work under minimal or no supervision. Must submit to fingerprinting and background check. May be subject to drug/alcohol screening prior to or during employment.
